Webinar – Wellness Woes: How the DOL is Raining on Macy’s Parade

October 16, 2019 @ 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

Employers breathed a sigh of relief when the EEOC finally issued guidelines outlining how employers could comply with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) and the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) in structuring their workplace wellness programs. That relief was short-lived as a federal court subsequently struck down certain of those guidelines only a year later. Now, with an ever-increasing wave of lawsuits challenging wellness programs, wellness once again seems risky.

This webinar will demystify the patchwork quilt of laws and agencies governing wellness programs, offering a comprehensive overview of which laws apply and when. We’ll also cover:

·     Recent litigation surrounding wellness programs and their likelihood of success.

·     Case studies examining popular wellness designs and how they comply.

·     Summaries and samples of the notices that must accompany certain types of wellness programs (and how those notices may be distributed).

·     A glimpse into how future EEOC guidance may change the landscape.
